Ms. Emily Maina holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Studies and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education. She has a drive for youth empowerment which is dear to her.

She is the Deputy Director -Youth Affairs in charge of Youth Empowerment and Participation and also the Regional Coordinator of Youth Affairs for Nairobi County. Previously she worked as Deputy Director of TVET as Desk Officer for Canada.

She is a Member of Expert Committee in the Kenya National Commission to UNESCO and the UNESCO UNEVOC Coordinator and ISO Coordinator. She has also served as Board Member of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) and a Board member of TVET Curriculum Development Certification Council.

Previously she has briefly served as Head of TVET Authority Secretariat in the formative stage of conception. She has worked in the Ministry Youth Affairs and Sports as Assistant Director Youth Training, District Youth Officer in Kiambu and later in charge of training at the Headquarters.

Prior to that she worked with the youth for 16 years as a graduate teacher rising to the position of Deputy Principal before joining mainstream public service
