Mr Nyerere Kutwa is an accomplished social development and public sector professional with extensive experience in programmes management, public administration, gender, and community development. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Kenya Institute of Management, and a Master of Arts in Social Development and Management from Maseno University.

He has served in senior leadership positions in both county and national government, including as Chief Officer for the Department of Gender, Culture, Youth, Sports and Children Services and Chief Officer for the Department of Public Service and Administration in the County Government of Vihiga.

At the Anti-FGM Board, he has held progressively senior leadership roles, including Programmes Manager, Deputy Director of Programmes, and Director of Programmes. He currently serves as the Acting Chief Executive Officer, providing strategic leadership in advancing the Board’s mandate to coordinate efforts towards the eradication of female genital mutilation in Kenya.
