Mr. Rashid is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociology at Mount Kenya University. He holds a Master of Arts in Social Development and Management from Maseno University, a Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Law at the Islamic University of Madina, Saudi Arabia, and a Diploma in Linguistics from the University of Nairobi.
Mr. Rashid is an Islamic scholar and Trainer of Trainers in Refugee Laws. He is a champion in peacebuilding and women empowerment. He served as Deputy Chief Kadhi of Kenya and Kadhi of Nairobi from 2012-2019 and previously as Kadhi in the Mt. Kenya Region, Garissa, Nyanza, and Western Provinces.
He has also served as Member of the Committee for preparation of Magistrate Courts Registry Manual, Member to the Task Force for Revision of Judiciary Human Resource Manual, and Vice Secretary-General of Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association for three years.
He participated in reconciliation training on Promoting National Cohesion and Reconciliation in Kenya by NCIC. He was also a Resource person to a seminar on National Kadhi, Uluma forum, and assistance registrar of marriages and divorces in Kenya and participated in a Seminar towards Jurisprudence of Equality, Women and Human Rights Laws of Kenya.
