The incoming Principal Secretary for Gender Prof. Colleta Suda accompanied by the Secretary-Gender Faith Kasiva visited THE Anti FGM Board offices to meet staff and an update on the status on the status of FGM in Kenya. The PS commended the Board for its efforts in the campaigns to end FGM in Kenya and called for concerted efforts among all the stakeholders to accelerate the ending of the practice.

She called for the prioritization of the Presidential directive to end FGM by 2022 and asked that a clear roadmap to actualize the target should be developed with clear action plans to guide all the partners and stakeholders. The PS was received by the Chairperson of the Board of Directors Mrs Agnes Pareyio and Board member Shoba Liban and the CEO Bernadette Loloju. She was briefed on the status of FGM in Kenya and presented with some of the Board’s knowledge management materials. As a Board we are highly committed to working with the new PS in our resolve to eliminate FGM in Kenya.
